- The Norwegian government aims to award areas by 2040 with potential for 30 GW offshore wind production on the Norwegian shelf. The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has thus given NVE the task of carrying out a strategic impact assessment of the areas that were identified for further review in April 2023. In ordre to carry out the strategic impact assessment, NVE needs to procure professional reviews to assess the affects of offshore wind on different themes that are relevant for the identified areas. These professional reviews will form the basis when NVE proposes areas with the aim of opening and announcing to OED. The strategic impact assessment will be carried out in accordance with the assignment and the two programmes stipulated by OED, published on 14 September 2023 on Regjeringa.no[IA1] . See the annex.
